****** Currently, the City of Henrietta does not a licensed animal control officer on staff and legally cannot pick up strays, ect. If you should have an issue, please call the Clay County Sheriff’s office at 940-538-5611.
If your pet is picked up by the City, the cost is $30.00 per pet for a 1st offense; $50.00 for the 2nd offense & $100.00 for the 3rd, plus a $5.00 charge per day for food. You must provide proof of rabies shot records and purchase a city pet tag before the animal will be released to you. City tags cost $1.00 for spayed & $3.00 for un-spayed.
If you are needing an animal trap for such things as cats, skunks, possums, etc., there is a trap delivery agreement that must be signed when the trap is delivered. A trap will be lent for a maximum of 10 days. The City will not deliver traps on holidays, weekends, or before or after regular business hours. The City animal control officer position is a part time only position and during normal working hours.
The City of Henrietta provides animal control inside the City limits in order to maintain a safer environment for all the citizens and visitors of Henrietta. During normal business hours of 8 a.m.-5 p.m. call City Hall at (940)538-4316 or call the Sheriff’s office at (940) 538-5611.
